Amazon Reviews For Molly McBride and the Purple Habit

This book is pure delight! The sweet, spunky Molly and her stuffed pet Francis captured my heart in this lovely story for children about the beauty of Catholic sacraments.

A beautiful story about a young girl who wants to wear her purple habit to her sister’s First Holy Communion, Molly’s relationship with her sister will ring familiar to many young girls and her father’s gentleness mirrors our Heavenly Father’s. Through a conversation with Children of Mary Sister Bernadette, Molly learns what it means to have a vocation to become a religious sister.
So many girls today do not experience a joyful relationship with a religious sister to open their hearts to the possibility of a religious vocation. This book can act as a blessing to open their minds and their hearts to the possibility that they too might be called to be a Bride of Christ.

This is a lovely story with beautiful artwork. I gave it to my daughter as a gift for her first communion, and she loved it.

I bought two of these books for my nieces’ First Communion gifts. The storyline is adorable and educates little ones (and curious adults!) about cloistered nuns and their habits, while explaining the Catholic meaning of First Communion. The artistry is beautiful, tender and colorful. I would highly recommend it!

This is just such a sweet book! So charming. The pictures are just lovely. I love the idea of the mom making her a habit to wear. Any little girl, especially if interested in religious sisters, would love this book. I really enjoyed it.

Beautiful illustrations by the author/artist. A story that will help your child understand being Catholic and loved by God.
Exquisite and beautifully rendered illustrations! Such a joy and pleasure to add this to our children’s book collection…just in time for Easter! And what a lovely way to introduce young ones to the Children of Mary.
